Benjamin Newby, Operating Partner for The Underground, and his creation “The Bombay General” have won GQ Magazine and Bombay Sapphire’s “America’s Choice” cocktail competition and will be featured in an upcoming issue of GQ Magazine.

Chicagoans don’t have to go very far to sip one of the best cocktails in the country.
The Bombay General, a gin concoction created by Benjamin Newby, the operating partner of The Underground nightclub, won the GQ’s “America’s Choice Cocktail” contest, and will be featured in a two-page spread in an upcoming issue of the magazine.
Newby spent a couple of years perfecting the winning recipe, which also includes ingredients such as Domaine De Canton, egg whites, lemon and marmalade.
The cocktail was entered in the text-based contest based on a fifth place finish at the national Bombay Sapphire mixology competition in Las Vegas a few months ago.
